What's so great about carpet? Gravity causes household particles, such as dust, dirt, pollen, and pet dander, to fall to the surface. Each time a door is opened, particulate matter enters your home; each time a family member or friend enters, particulate and petroleum based soils are tracked in on the soles of their shoes. Carpet fiber has the ability to trap particulate matter, preventing continued circulation through the air. Frequent vacuuming with HEPA filters can catch and remove most of the surface dust and allergens and has been linked to a decrease in asthma and allergy symptoms.

In addition to the information provided above, the best tip our family can share with yours is the following:

Spills

Immediately grab a clean, white terry towel.
Fold it in half and half again - into quarters.
Place it on top of the affected area and place something heavy to weigh the towel down absorb your spill.
Repeat this process with as many towels as it takes to absorb the spill.
Do not scrub the surface as it may distort the fabric, which cannot be repaired.
Wash them separately and use them the next time this occurs, which is often if your kids are like ours! They can be purchased in bulk locally for about $20.
