About the same time our founder was opening for business, the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) published a document on indoor air quality recommendations. It is the foundation from which green industry related groups are built upon. The US Green Building Council (USGBC), Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI), Institute for Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), doctors, lawyers and industry professionals make daily reference about the information that was presented in this 36-page document (#402-K-93-007 "The Inside Story: A Guide to IAQ"). The findings published state the following:

Most of us spend up to 90% of our time inside (home and work combined).
The "indoor air quality" environment is 20 - 50% more polluted than outside.

You might not have been aware there is an Executive Presidential Order, #13101, which defines "green" as the following: products and services that reduce health and environmental impacts compared to similar products and services used for the same purpose.

We prefer to clean green when we can - it's better for all of us, our homes, our workplace, and our environment. We use cleaning solutions and equipment recommended by the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) with their seal of approval, along with other green cleaning solutions. Cleaning green has no bearing on any manufacturer's warranty - it is a choice, and it's the right choice for us. McNevin Cleaning Specialists is a certified firm by The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). There are provisions in green cleaning which allow us to get aggressive when the need arises - some spots are stubborn and stains are stains - because ultimately we want and need to clean!
